"Our Wi-Fi is down."
This is a common support request that we get. Most of the time Wi-Fi is not actually down. Instead, the internet is offline.
Nextworks can more quickly identify and correct a problem with an accurate description of the symptom.
Wireless connects your computer or device to your internal network, which then connects to the internet.
If your internet connection is disrupted, your Wi-Fi and internal network will function. You can still print, run programs, and access an in-house file server.
On the other hand, if your Wi-Fi (or wired) equipment fails, you will lose access to your internal network and the internet.
There are many causes for an internet outage and we're here to help resolve the issue. The problem is most likely one of the following (in order):

The first thing to do is to determine the scope of the outage. Is everyone down? Are only people in a certain area affected? Are both wireless devices and hard wired (ethernet) devices offline?
This critical information helps us to better pinpoint the problem.
If you determine that only the internet is down and you want to reset equipment on your own, find your internet router and power cycle it. To do this, unplug all cables and plug them back in. (For Comcast customers, the device will say Comcast on the front.)
